Christmas in purple and turquoise

Good morning and happy Halloween to all of you who are celebrating it. :) I'm not a big fan of spooky things, zombies etc., so Halloween really isn't my favourite holiday. So instead of showing you a Halloween project I'd rather show you another Christmas card I made. :)

I wanted to do a Christmas card in non-traditonal colours so I picked these lovely purple and turquoise papers that came as a freebie in a craft magazine a couple of years ago. And I matched them with this fab dotty ribbon from Crafty ribbons - it was just the perfect colour for my card. :D You can find this ribbon here (I know this one seems brighter, but it it's the same one). See these snowmen? This was one of the first stamps I bought when I started making crafts (actually it came in a set with some others). And til now I haven't used it even once. Shame on me, I know. But it's small so I wasn't sure how to make it as a center image. But I thought it would sort of look good at this card (if I also added some snowflakes above the image). The snowflakes were made with my craft punch and the crystals are from my stash. Around the edges of the image I added some diamond Stickles.

Have a wonderful day!
Hugs! xx

Another blue Christmas card

Snowy greetings to you. Brrrr, it's cold outside. Once for a change the weathermen were right - we really DID get snow today. And quite a lot of it too. It started snowing in the morning, but that snow was gone before it got to the ground. And then it started raining. And around 5 pm it started snowing heavily and now everything is white - as if it was December already. Not that I'm complaining though. Christmas is my favourite season and all this snow + shops putting out all the Christmassy decorations already (yes, I know it's still October) make me feel we are already in the holiday season. Hence, I've been humming Christmas songs to myself the whole afternoon. lol So no wonder I've been making Christmas cards today, right? ;) Here's one that I made earlier ...

First I'd like to apologize because the picture isn't the best, but I just couldn't get enough light to make a better one. The stamp is from the Christmas peace and love stamp set (same one as the reindeer which I used on several of my previous cards). I really like the look of it. All the papers are from Provo Craft. The smallest snowflakes are made with my craft punch and the bigger ones are Marianne designs dies. I embossed the snowflakes with Cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder and inked them with blue ink pad. Doily, pearls and ribbon are from my stash.

I'd like to enter my card to the following challenges:
Mojo Monday: Sketch (fab sketch if I may add, I made several cards following it :D)

The crafty pad: Christmas is coming
ABC Christmas: U is up to you

Blue Christmas

Heya! A week of holidays just started. Woohoo! :D This means a week for crafting and relaxing. What more  could I wish for? ;)

Yesterday I told you I'd be back with a card today, so here I am. :) I want to show you a Christmas card I made a short while ago, but haven't posted it yet.

Once again I played with my reindeer stamp. I really like this image and I think it looks great when it's embossed - I embossed it with Queen's gold embossing powder by Ranger. I used some blue papers from Provo Craft and music sheet from my stash. The bigger snowflakes are Marianne Designs die and the small snowflake is made with my craft punch. In the center I put a small crystal from my stash. On the left side of the card you can see some wooden snowflakes which I bought last year. Around the edges of DP and the image I stamped with different snowflake stamps. The gold mesh behind the image came as a decoration of one of the Christmas presents last year (or maybe it was 2 years ago?). Don't you just love recycling? :D The ribbon is from my stash.

I would like to enter my card to the following challenges:
The crafty pad: Use an animal
Stamp and create: Winter Wonderland
Crafty sentiments: Recycle it (I recycled the gold mesh I used on my card)
Fab 'n' funky: Animals
Penny Black and Allsorts: Animal magic

Butterfly dream Tilda

Heya! The "children's birthday" challenge is still going on at Crafty ribbons challenge blog, and today I want to show you what I made for the challenge ...

I received a stamped image of this sweet Tilda from a friend of mine and I couldn't wait to use it. Isn't Tilda just too cute? I colored her with Promarkers and I added some Stickles on the wings and also on the edge of the white circle. I used my butterfly border punch and I used those tiny butterflies that gor punched out on the image too. The bigger flowers were made with TH die and the small ones were made with my craft punch. In the middle of the flowers I used Viva decor pearl pen. I used the pearl pen on the scalopped circle, in the corners and on the punched piece of paper as well. I didn't have any corner die that would be small enough to fit on my card, so I just cut a aquare piece of yellow paper and used my Fiskars corner punch on it. And then I cut the corners out and glued them on my card. :) The green paper in the back is from Heidi Grace design and the rest of papers are from my stash. And the ribbon is from Crafty ribbons (you can find it here).

I hope you'll come play with us. I'm looking forward to see your creations. :)

And before I go, I just want to tell you about about what's going on at Crafty ribbons blog ... Til October 27 there will be new creation on their blog, made for their vintage ribbon challenge. Plus, they are offering free shipping til that day. Great, huh? ;) And wait, there's more ... New Bev's bag was just launched with all the vintage ribbons and also  some extras. So why not have a look at their blog?

Christmas chocolate and Christmas card

Hello! Yesterday, when I went to one of the stores in the city centre I noticed they are already rady for Christmas. I could already buy Christmas decorations, Christmas candy ... I do like Christmas, A LOT, but that's still a little bit early for me. Still, I couldn't resist and I had to buy something. Look what I spoiled myself with ...
Tell me, how am I supposed to resist a Christmassy Milka chocolate, when it has nuts, pieces of orange and cinnamon inside. Plus, it's MILKA, my favourite chocolate. So it was impossible for me not to buy it. And I'm very happy I did, because it's probably the best Milka I've ever eaten (needless to say it's already gone). It's sooooooooo good!!! I'm planning to go and buy a few more on Thursday when I'm in the area again. And I will hide those from myself til Christmas, because I want to eat this yummy chocolate on my favourite holiday. :)

Speaking about Christmas ... I also want to show you a Christmas card that I made. It's a pretty simple card really.

I used the stamp which came with the set that I got from my friend last Christmas. I embossed it with queen's gold embossing powder and around it I stamped with two different snowflake stamps. The dotty paper is from Folia. The white paper is just a regular white cardstock, which I embossed with TH snowflake embossing folder. The ribbon is from Crafty ribbons (available here) and the twine is from my stash. I used my carft punch to make snowflakes and in the middle of each snowflake I glued a small crystal. I also used my border punch.

I would like to enter this card to the following challenges:
Papertake weekly: All creatures - great and small
Simon says stamp: Dies and/or punches

No embellishments

Hello everybody! How are you today? I'm fine despite the yucky gray day we have here. It's gotten really cold and in the last couple of days. I think I will have to go through my wardrobe over the weekend and bring those pullovers etc. to the front and put t-shirts in the back. I don't think I'll be needing them again this year.

Yesterday in the evening I finally managed to do some crafting. Some time ago one lovely lady sent me a stamped image of Flutter Anya from The greeting farm and I decided to use it on today's card. Isn't she cute? I colored her with Promarkers.

I didn't use any design paper on this card. But I did A LOT of embossing. :) I used 3 different embossing folders - swiss dots and fleur de lis from Cuttlebug and cottage floral from Craft concept. And guess what, I didn't use any embellishments either. Wow, right? I was very tempted to (I wanted to add some glitters on Anya's wings, pearls for the flower centers, use some ribbon ...), but I saw one challenge that as "no embellishments" so I thought I would challenge myself and see if I can do it. :) My sweet friend Jasmina let me borrow her Marianne design die so I could cut out some leaves that I used on this card. The bigger flower is a TH die and small flowers and butterflies are made with my craft punch.

So much from me today. Hugs! xx

I would like to enter my card to the following challenges:
Yumi and Fumi handmade: Embossing
Bizzy Bec's: Things with wings
Anyone for Anya: No embellishments (my understanding of "no embellishments" is no ribbon, pearls, gems, store bought flowers, lace etc., but if you think flower punches are not ok either, feel free to remove my card :))

Money box

Heya! We are half way through with our challenge at Crafty ribbons challenge blog (our current challenge is "anything but square"), so this gives you another week to enter your creations and to win some yummy dotty ribbons from Crafty ribbons. :) And as promised, today I will show you what I made for this challenge.

But before I do thist I just want to tell you that I will be very, very busy til October 23, so please forgive me if I don't visit your blog often (will try to pop in as often as I can, but I don't know how often this will be). After that date I will hopefully have a little bit more free time on my hands again.

And now really to my project ... ;) Remember I made a money box for my boyfriend's birthday? Well, I liked it a lot, so I decided to make one for me as well. :) And here's how it turned out ...

Front

Top

Again I used the Truffes box as a template. :) I really like the shape and it's so easy to trace it and put the box together again. I used this flowery paper from Folia that I've had in my stash for a while. Isn't it pretty? All around the box I glued this yummy brown ribbon from Crafty ribbons - you can find it here. I decorated the front page with TH fence die, Sizzix swirl die (I got a few of those cuts from Jasmina - thanks a lot girl!) and some handmade flowers. The swirl was cut from a white cardstock and I stamped over it with Stampabilities Faded text background stamp. The brown flowers were made with TH tattered florals die and the center one was just made with a round piece of cardstock - I inked the edges with TH brushed corduroy distress ink. The butterflies and flowers on the fence were made with my craft punch and I added some pearls from my stash to the center of the flowers. The little birdie is a stamp. The top I decorated with more flowers (these are Marianne design dies - I got those from Jasmina as well), some pearls for the center of the flowers, more swirls (these swirls are Marianne design dies as well) on which I also stamped with Stampabilities Faded text background stamp, M. Stewart butterfly punch and some more small butterflies.

I hope you like my today's project and that you will come and play with us. :)

Hugs! xx
