Pretty in pink

Heya! What a beautiful day we had here today. I wasn't too cold and the sun was shining all afternoon. Beautiful!

Today I want to show you a card that I made for a friend's birthday. It's still quite some time til her birthday but I've been a good girl and I've been working on things ahead. This is what the card looks like ...

I hope she will like it! I used this adorable Yumi image from Yumi & Fumi handmade. I colored the image with Promarkers and Faber Castell pencils. And guess what ... I've also done some paper piecing. That's definitely not my style. But I wanted to do something a bit different and this image is perfect for this technique. All of the papers are from my stash so unfortunately I have no idea from which company they are. I embossed the oval behind the Yumi with Cottage Floral embossing folder and . The flowers were made with TH Tattered florals die and my craft punch. On the edges of the petals I used some glitter glue. In the center of the flowers I used Viva decor pearl pen. The sentiment is a G Studio stamp which I have to admit I have been neglecting a bit lately, I haven't use it for a while.

I would like to add my card to the following challenges:
Yumi & Fumi handmade: Photo inspiration
Word art Wednesday: Anything goes
Inky inpressions: Bingo (pink, sentiment, die/punch)
Simon says stamp: Anything goes
Inky chicks: Bingo (die cuts, image, flowers)
Sketch and stash: Sketch (my "happy birthday" stamp was my "neglected" item)
Totally gorjuss: Flowers
Top tip Tuesday: Lavishly luscious layers
Baffies kreativladen: Anything goes, but no Magnolia
Creative card crew: Girly
Flutter by Wednesday: Open challenge (anything goes with butterfly or fairy)
Love to create: Anything goes with sentiment

Purple paper bag mini album

***This is a picture heavy post***

Hello! Can you believe it's almost the end of January? Where did this month go?! O.o I hope you had a nice first month of 2013 and that the rest will be even better.

Today I want to show you a mini album which I made for one lady who is celebrating her birthday in the beginning of February. I wasn't sure if she would like an album with a whole lot of embellishments and pockets, so I kept it pretty simple. I hope she will like it! I used paper bags to make this mini. Most of the papers are from Disney paper pad (see video - on the bottom of the page - to see which one), but some are from Provo craft as well.

Here are the pictures of the mini ...

The cover

On the cover I wrote the lady's name and her age using K&Co stickers, which I decorated with glitter glue. I also added some butterflies that were made with my craft punch and some ribbon.

First and second page

As you can see, I used some lace and different punches/dies to decorate the pages. I used MS butterfly punch, a tiny butterfly punch, small flower punch and TH fence die. It's a bit hard to see on this picture, but there's also a small birdie on the left side of the fence. This is a stamp and I just cut the birdie out and placed it on the fence.

Third and forth page

I think this is my favourite page in the album. I just love all those flowers and butterflies. I like the embossing too - I used my Faded text background stamp and white embossing powder for this.

Fifth and sixth page

I made some small flowers from a purple tissue paper and used them to decorate this page.

Seventh and eighth page

I did some more embossing here ...

Ninth and tenth page

Here I used some SB Parisian accents dies as decorations.

And here are the tags that you can pull out of the pockets ...

And finally, here's the video I made about this album ...

I would like to enter my album to the following challenges ...
Through the craft room door: Anything goes
The crafty bloggers network: Flowers (I used lots of flowers in my album)
Natalie and Amy: Favourite things (I used several of my favourite things in this album, e.g. the MS butterfly punch is definitely my favourite punch and TH flower die is one of my favourite things as well)
One crazy stamper: Anything goes
DL Art: Anything goes
Stampin for the weekend: Girlie
The crafter's cafe: Anything goes
Bunny Zoe's: Anything goes
Sparkles: Die cuts and flowers
Addicted to stamps: Use material/texture
Paper crafting journey: For a girl
Tuesday alchemy: Anything goes
Pin and tack: Anything goes
My mum's craft shop: Anything goes

And that's it. I hope you like the album. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. :)

Fabric flower tutorial

Hello! Is it only me or did this weekend just flew by?! O.o Time is flying by way too fast for my liking.

The other day I did a fabric flower tutorial for the kind of flowers I used on my wreath here. I posted it on YouTube, but never on my blog. Don't be afraid if you are not good at sewing. To be honest, I'm horrible at it. lol But this is a very, very easy project so if you like the result, you should really give it a try.

Have a great week!
Hugs! xx

Love and romance

Hello, hello! Not long for the weekend to come. Do you have any plans? I think I will just relax.

In case you haven't found your way to Crafty ribbons challenge blog yet, let me tell you that the theme of our current challenge is Love/romance/anniversary. With Valentine's day fast approaching we thought it would be good to challenge you to make a nice card/project for your sweetie. :) If you are lucky, you could also win this fab prize, that's generously donated by Ali and Tony ...

I have to admit that me and my sweetie don't really celebrate Valentine's day. We both prefer surprising each other on a random days because we feel like it and not just because it's Valentine's day. So love/romance cards are not really something I would make often. But I tried and here's what I came up with ...

As you can see, I kept my card pretty simple. I used patterned red paper from Folia for the background and then added some white cardstock which I embossed with Cottage floral embossing flower over it. In the bottom I used another piece of that red cardstock. I used my border punch to make decorative edge. I also used a 3 mm white grosgrain ribbon from Crafty ribbons. In the upper left corner I glued some heart crystals from my stash. The foam hearts I used on my card are from my stash as well. I raised them on foam dots to add some dimension to the card.

I would like to enter my card to the following challenges:
Card makin' mamas: Clean & simple
Pile it on: Use hearts
Craft us crazy: Valentine's/love and/or use colour red
Bunny Zoe's: Anything goes
Through the craft room door: Anything goes
Whimsical designs: All about love
Pixie dust studio: No squares allowed
Cards galore: Anything goes
The crafter's cafe: Anything goes
Stamp and create: Love

I hope you like my card and that you'll come and play with us.
Hugs! xx

Yellow and grey elegance

Hello! Phew, it's finally weekend. This week was very hectic and I am very happy it's over. I've decided to do absolutely nothing today (nothing that I wouldn't like). I will just relax and take it easy. I'm currently working on one mini album and I think I'll play with it for a little. Once it's done I will show you the pictures (though knowing how slow I am at making these things it might take another week or two lol).

In the meantime, I want to show you a card I made the other day. Once for a change I didn't use any cute image on it and I played with colour combination I don't use often. However, I must admit I'm quite happy with how this card turned out. I hope you will like it too!

I used pastel yellow and white cardstock and some grey paper from my stash. As you can see I did quite some embossing on this card. For the yellow cardstock I used Cuttlebug Swiss dots EF and for the white cardstock I used Cottage floral EF. Once the white piece of cardstock was embissed, I used TH weathered wood DI to ink the raised parts. The doily is from my stash. The circles were cut with my SB dies. On the white circle I stamped with Faded text background stamp from Stampabilities. Thebutterfly is MS punch and the flower is TH die. I inked the flower with TH weathered wood DI. I used a bigger crystal for the center of my flower and some small crystals to create a swirl. I also used my border punch.

I would like to enter my card to the following challenges:
Mojo Monday: Sketch
Pink Gem: Emboss it
Sparkles: Die cuts and flowers
Stampin' for the weekend: Something girly
Cute cards Thursday: Diamonds are forever
Divas by design: Make it girly
Bearly mine: Anything goes
Allsorts: Flower power
Card and scrap: Use punch
Bunny Zoe's crafts: Anything goes
Cards galore: Anything goes
One crazy stamper: Anything goes

Before I go, I would also like to tell you about the snow sale that is currently going on at Crafty ribbons. You can get their gorgeous ribbons up to 75% off. Now, if this isn't a good deal, I don't know what it is. Hop here to see the ribbons that are on sale.

Have a wonderful weekend! Hugs! xx

First Christmas card of 2013

Heya! Phew, we've been getting lots and lots and LOTS of snow again. I think I will need to leave home tomorrow again if I want to get to work in time. It's been snowing heavily the whole afternoon and I don't think it'll stop anytime soon.

With all this snow I think the card I want to show you today is perfect. It's the first Christmas card I've made in 2013.

I used the sweet Pickles from Wild rose studio as my main image. I colored him with Promarkers and Fabes Castell pencils. On the white part of the cap I used glitter glue. The star paper that I used on the left side of my card is from Folia. That's the only dp I used. The paper with music notes was actually a white cardstock which I inked with TH Antique linen DI and stamped over it with Kaisercraft stamp. Ovals are SB dies. I embossed the white oval with Cuttlebus swiss dots embossing folder and then inked the raised dots with my stamp pad. The border you can see going down the middle of the card is my new Cart-us die. The gold stars are cut from a star ribbon that you can buy at Crafty ribbons store. The paper stars under the ribbon ones are my new Nellie Snellen dies. I inked those stars with TH distress ink and embossed them with Cuttlebug EF.

I would like to enter my card to the following challenges:
Designed to color: Metalics (gold stars)
Bunny Zoe's crafts: Anything goes

Birthday card for a friend

Good morning! How are you doing? Are you enjoying your weekend? I've had some stuff to do yesterday but I'm taking it easy today. Staying in, thinking of doing some crafting etc. I still need to do some paperwork, but that shouldn't take me too much time.

Earlier this month my sweet blogging friend celebrated her birthday and today I will show you the card I made for her. She's already received it so it's safe to post picture on my blog. :)

The brown paper I used in the background came from a vintage paper pack (I checked the pad for the brand, but couldn't find any). I embossed it with cottage floral embossing folder. The square doily frame is a Marianne design die. I inked the edges and the inside with TH Antique linen distress ink. The sentiment is a Cloud 9 design stamp. Around the sentiment I added some gold glitter glue. On the bottom of the card I added some lace. I made Tilda look like as she is sitting on the lace. :) I colored Tilda with Promarkers and Faber Castell pencils. I also used a lot of flowers from my stash on this card. For the center of the small flowers I used Viva decor pearl pen.

I would like to enter my card to the following challenges:
Totally Tilda: Tilda in trousers
The paper shelter: Flower extra vaganza
Divas by design: Anything goes
It's all about the vintage and beauty: Lace dream
Inky chicks: Anything goes
Paper crafting journey: Anything goes

I wish you all a wonderful Sunday! Hugs! xx

Anoter baby boy card

Good morning! I hope your  week has been good so far. I have been pretty busy with work, but in my free time I have been trying to organize my crafty thingies a bit. I haven't done much organizing yet, but even a little bit is better than nothing, right?

We are half way through our current challenge at Crafty ribbons. The theme of our challenge is "new beginnings". You could win a selection of these fab baby ribbons ...

I want to show you another baby boy card that I made. All of my friends had or are expecting a baby boy nowadays, so I'm mostly making boy cards. I was trying to make something a little bit different this time and I am quite happy with the result. What do you think?

The dotty paper I used is from Heidi Grace design. I used the alphabet stamps and wrote "baby boy". Then I cut each letter out with my circle die. Over each letter I added some glitter glue to give the letters some sparkle. :) Then I used my butterfly stamp and colored the butterfly with Antique linen and Brushed corduroy distress inks. Over the butterfly I added some glitter glue too. I cut the butterflies out with my cissors and glued one on each side of the card. On the bottom of the card I used the gorgeous white  french rose ribbon from Crafty ribbons

I would like to enter my card to the following challenges:
Bunny Zoe's: Celebration
Scrap-creations: Something new (new baby)
Papertake weekly: Happy new ... (new baby)
Craft us crazy: Something new or inspiration photo (I chose "something new" - new baby)
Pink gem designs: New beginnings
Card makin' mamas: Anything goes
Totally papercrafts: Something new (new baby)
The pink elephant: Celebrate

I wish you all a wonderful Thursday! Hugs! xx

Sweet angel Tilda

Hello! How are you? I hope you've been enjoying your weekend. Mine was nice, pretty lazy one to be honest. I didn't have to go anywhere and I had a whole Saturday to play with papers. :) I've been working in advance on my DT projects. So far my New Year's resolution (well, one of them) - to be more organized - is working well. I just need to keep on being a good girl. :)

Today I took my Christmas tree down. Oh my, what an empty space is there now. Makes me want to put my tree up again. lol But all the ornaments are already in the boxes and in the closet, waiting for the next Christmas.

I told you that I was working on my DT projects yesterday, but I also made one pretty simple card that I will show you now.

This Tilda is still one of my favourite images from Magnolia. The others are cute too, but my favourite is still this one. It's so versatile - you can use it on baby cards, Christmas cards, birthday cards ... I colored the image with Promarkers. On Tilda's wings I used glitter glue. I didn't use and dp on this card, just pink and white cardstock. I embossed the white cardstock with swiss dots embossing folder from Cuttlebug and cottage floral embossing folder from Craft concepts. Under the image I used this gorgeous pink french rose ribbon from Crafty ribbons. I didn't think this card needed much embellishments, so I just added two tiny die cut swirls that I made with Sizzix/TH Festive greenery die and some pink confetti from my stash.

I would like to enter my card to the following challenges:
Totally Gorjuss: Anything goes with ribbon
Papertake weekly: Anything goes
2 sisters challenge blog: Anything goes
Crafty Catz: Anything goes
Sweet stampin': White + one other colour
Catch the bug: Anything goes
Stampin' for the weekend: Anything goes
Izazovi i slatkiši: Svetlucavo (glitters on Tilda's wings)
Dream valley: Anything goes
Natalie and Amy: Favourite things (I used my favourite Tilda stamp and one of my favourite ribbons)
Oozak: Anything goes + pink and bling (my bling are glitters on Tilda's wings)

Have a lovely Sunday (what's left of it) and a wonderful week! Hugs! xx

Let's say hello to 2013

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Did you have a nice New Year's eve? I celebrated it with my boyfriend and my friends. We were playing a board game called Monopoly - one game took us 4 hours to finish. What can I say, we had time. lol We had a nice, calm and fun evening. :)

For me 2012 was a good year ...
~ I got a REAL job. ~
~ I passed my final and hardest exam I've ever had to pass. ~
~ I got to travel to Montenegro, Greece (I loved Santorini!) and some other beautiful places - cruising is awesome. :D ~
~ I finally got to meet my friend from Holland after all those years. ~
~ I was lucky enough to get to know some of you talented ladies here a bit better and I am very happy we became friends. ~

Ah, so many wonderful memories ... But now it's time to turn over a new leaf and get ready for new year and all the things this one has ready for me.

I'm not very good at making resolutions and I'm even worse at keeping them (I know - shame on me! *blush*), but I hope I can change this in 2013.

My crafty resolutions ...
~ I reeeeeeeeally need to be more organized and not do everything the very last minute. ~
~ I want to make at least one Christmas card each month (preferably even more). ~
~ I want to get better at coloring - I need to practice (and invest in some more markers and/or pencils). ~
~ I want to make a baby mini album for my friend that is expecting a baby boy. ~
~ I want to try and make some of the things I've never made before (but are on my long "things to do" list). ~
~ Be a better blogger friend and leave comments more often. ~

I also made some not craft related resolutions, but won't bore you with those. ;)

Sooooooo, I wish you a magical and adventurous 2013. May this be the best year ever! Hugs! xx
