A tag for a change

Heya! How are you doing? I'm enjoying the warm sunny days. It's so great to finally be able to walk around in t-shirts again. We almost have summer temperatures today (it's around 27 degrees Celsius here). Too bad it won't last long though. According to the weathermen "colder" days (around 20 degrees) are just around the corner. But 20 degrees isn't bad either. At least it feels like spring. :)

Before I show you the tag I made I want to remind you that today started a new challenge at Crafty ribbons challenge blog. The theme is "anything goes with ribbon" and you have 2 weeks to upload your creations. I hope you will come play with us!

So, now onto my tag. Yes, I made a tag for a change; haven't made any for a while. Here's what it looks like ...

I didn't use any design papers for this tag. I just recycled some wrapping paper (the purple and the brown one) and white cardstock.First I cut out the tag from the white cardstrock and covered it with purple paper. I inked the edges of the tag and the purple paper with my ink pad. Then I added doily (you have to look really closely if you want to see it peeking out from behind the embossed piece of paper). Over that I glued a piece of white cardstock which I first embossed with Craft concepts' cottage floral embossing folder and then inked the raised parts with my ink pad. I used my border punch to create the border. For my main image I used the adorable Yumi stamp from Yumi and Fumi handmade. I colored her with Promarkers and Faber Castel pencils. If you don't know yet, there's a fun event going on at Yumi and Fumi handmade blog. You really should check it out if you haven't already. As you probably noticed I used a lot of die cuts on my tag. The corner and the butterfly are Spellbinders dies. I inked the corner die cut with my ink pad and as for the butterfly goes, I used my home-made "glimmer mist" on it. Unfortunately you can't see this in the image, but it sparkles really nicely in person. The leaves, flower and swirl are die cuts too. But those I got. My friend once let me borrow her Marianne design flower and leaves die so I made quite some of those and the swirl die cut came a while back from one lovely lady who won my candy and then sent me some die cuts as a thank you. The small flowers are made with my craft punch. For the center of the small flowers I used Viva decor pearl pen and for the center of the big flower and on the butterfly I used some pearls from my stash. Ribbon came from my stash as well.

I would like to add my tag to the following challenges:
Yumi and Fumi handmade: Anything goes (event challenge)
Simon says stamp: Anything goes
Simon says stamp and show: Color
Totally Gorjuss: Embossing
Dl. Art: Anything goes
Allsorts: A passion for flowers
Forever friends: Use lots of flowers

Have a wonderful day!
Hugs! xx

Pocket card with a bookmark

Good morning! How's your weekend so far? I hope you are having a nice time. Me and my sweetie are moving in summent so we went to check one apartment earlier. It's not bad, but we still want to check some others before we make the final decision. We are not in a hurry to move (we are not moving before July/August), so we can take our time with the "hunt".

Other than that I just found out my card was featured at Yumi and Fumi handmade blog. Yay! :D And look at the fabby badge we got for being featured.

Isn't it awesome?! Thank you ladies! *hugs* If you don't know, there's a fun event going on at Yumi and fumi blog too and you can win some yummy prizes. So why not check it out? Click here for more info.

If you don't know, my sweetie is a teacher in elementary school - he currently teaches third-grades (meaning: kids that are 8 years old). Kids in elementary school are encouraged to do a lot of reading and one girl in his class was really good, so he asked me if I could make a little something for her. I immediately thought about bookmark - seems appropriate for someone who likes to read and does a lot of reading, doesn't it? I didn't want to make a "traditional" bookmars, so I made the corner one. And while I had my crafting supplies out I also made a matching pocket card.

Here's how the pocket card looks when it's closed.

I used the Dress up Marci stamp from La-La Land Crafts. I absolutely love this image. Isn't Marci just too cute?! And I remember I loved playing dress up when I was a little girl so I thought this image would be perfect for an 8-year-old. I raised Marci on foam pads. I colored her with Promarkers and I used TH spun sugar DI on her cheeks. For the necklace I used Viva decor pearl pen and I also added some glitter glue on the flower and on the green parts of Marci's dress (you can see this if you enlarge the picture). I used the flower myself - I used TH tattered florals die and then added a gold brad for the center. The scalloped oval behind Marci was embossed with cottage floral embossing folder.I used TH Vintage market die for the letters. The beautiful butterfly paper is from Studio Light.

Here's the opened card with the bookmark inside.

And here's the opened card when you take the bookmark out.

I kept the bookmark pretty simple. I just covered it with the patterned paper and added some lace on the bottom, some more embossed paper and the white butterfly which is a Spellbinders die.

I would like to enter my project to the following challenges:
La-La Land crafts: Birds or butterflies
Yumi and Fumi handmade: Multiple folds
Papertake weekly: One paper taker
Inky impressions: Punches/dies
7 kids college fund: Anything goes
Creative card crew: Handmade flowers

I hope you like my today's project. Enjoy the weekend! Hugs! xx

Pink and green challenge at Crafty ribbons

Good morning! First let me apologize because I've been such a bad blogger lately. Usually I try to catch up with commenting etc. over the weekend, but this weekend I was away and couldn't do it. Then over the last couple of days I was catching up on all the paper work at my job.

I went to Czech (we visited Prague and some other places) for the weekend and I have to say that Prague really is as beautiful as they say. I love all those old buildings. If you get the chance, you should visit it.

We still have a "pink and green" challenge going on at Crafty ribbons challenge blog and if you haven't already, go and enter your creation(s) - you still have one week to do this. You might get lucky and win this wonderful prize.

(contents may vary)

Here's the card I made for the challenge.

I used the leftover pieces of Prima's Tea Thyme paper pad. The papers in this paper pad are gorgeous - I really need to get another one. I unked the edges with my black ink pad. I used several different dies - the swirl is a sizzix die , the flowers are made with TH tattered florals die and the die cut behind the butterfly was made with my Spellbinders' die. The flower border was made with my craft punch. I inked the bigger flower with TH antique linen DI. For the center of the flower I used a gold sequin (same one that I used on the swirl and for the center of the flower ribbon) and then covered it with a white pearl from my stash. The butterfly was stamped on white cardstock with Memento rich cocoa ink pad and then I covered the white parts with Rayher glitter glue. I also used the gorgeous white french rose ribbon and the fab olive lace from Crafty ribbons.

I would like to enter my card to the following challenges:
Live & love crafts: Bingo (lace, vintage, pearls)
Divas by design: Butterflies and birds
Crafts and me: Bling it up
ABC challenge: L for Lovely Lace
Everybody art: Bling

I hope you'll come and play with us.
Have a great day!
Hugs! xx

Pink and green birthday card

Hey, hey! I hope you had a lovely weekend and that Monday wasn't too bad. I know weekends always go by too quickly, but look on the bright side ... Today is Tuesday already, so this means only three more days and you will be able to enjoy again. ;)

I had a lovely, calm weekend and I got to do quite some crafting. Here's one of the cards I made. Let me apologize in advance because the picture isn't the best, but the weather has been yucky for the last couple of days.

I needed a birthday card for one girl, so this is what I came up with. I hope she will like it! I thought that this adorable image from Yumi and Fumi Handmade would be perfect, so I inked it up. I colored the image with Promarkers and Faber Castell pencils. I decided to use this fab green and pink glittery paper that I got from my friend La Vikinga (thank you hun!!!). The doily is from my stash. The tiny butterflies were made with my craft punch and the flower is a Marianne design die. On the flower and on the heart of Yumi's sweater I used some glitter glue. I created the "banner" with my scissors. The sentiment is a G Studio stamp.  I also used Spellbinders scalloped circle die (behind the image) and another Spellbinders die for the corner. The white satin ribbon, the pink and green striped ribbon and the green button I used for the center of my flower are from Crafty ribbons.

I would like to enter my card to the following challenges:
Yumi and Fumi handmade: CASE Eva
Simon says stamp: Happy birthday
Color me creative classroom: All about hair
Sweet stampin': Scallops
Crafty creations: Flowers and/or fairies
The crafting cafe: Let's celebrate
Stamp and create: Use at least one die
Dream valley: Happy birthday
The crafty bloggers network: Anything goes
Papertake weekly: Bingo (glitter, die cuts, blooms OR punches, free, ribbon)

Pastel card with butterflies

Heya! How are you? Enjoying your week so far? I just finished the card I'm about to show you. It's nothing special, but I hope you like it anyways.

I decided to use some of the stamps that I haven't used for a while. Those butterflies are from Inkadinkado and the floral corner stamp is from Rubber stampede. On the flowers and on the butterflies I used glitter glue. For this card I used the pastel blue and pink cardstock and My mind's eye design paper. The white piece of cardstock was embossed with Cuttlebug's swiss dots embossing folder. The doily that's peeking out from behind is from my stash and so are the gold confetti. The seam binding ribbon is from Crafty ribbons

I would like to enter my card to the following challenges:
Mojo Monday: Sketch
The craft place: Animals
Craft-alnica: Barvna inspiracija
The pretty little ribbon: Spring is in the air
My mum's craft shop: Easter or Easter colours (I chose Easter colours)

Have a wonderful weekend! Hugs! xx

Monochromatic

Hey, hey! First of all a big hello and welcome to my new followers. *waving like crazy* It's great to see you here. :) Will visit your blogs over the weekend when I have a bit more free time.

Speaking about the weekend ... Do you have any plans yet? I will probably do some crafting. I'm in the mood for making mini albums right now so I might start working on another mini. But will make a card or two too. :)

There's still an "anything goes with ribbon" challenge going on at Crafty ribbons challenge blog. You still have one more week to enter your creations.

Here's the card I made for this challenge ...

I went for a monochromatic look this time. For this card I used the gorgeous purple butterfly paper from the "vintage" paper pad (I checked, but can't find the brand) and some white cardstock. I embossed the piece ofcardstock with cottage floral embossing folder and on the other piece I stamped with Faded text background stamp from Stampabilities. On the right side I used the fab purple flower from my stash. Behind the flower I added some bead strings. I completed the card with the gorgeous sheer light blue dotty ribbon and purple satin ribbon from Crafty ribbons. I made the butterflies with my craft punch and the gems are from my stash.

I would like to enter my card to the following challenges.
Papertake weekly: Anything goes
The paper nest dolls: Anything goes
A little bit crafty: Anything goes
Natalie and Amy: Monochromatic
Simon says stamp and show: Absolutely anything goes
Paper crafting journey: Monochromatic
